Where are Tanzania & Zanzibar?

Tanzania is on the east coast of Africa; situated between Kenya and Uganda to the north, Zambia and Mozambique to the south, and Rwanda to the west. Tanzania is a mountainous country and home to Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest mountain, as well as parts of 3 of Africa’s Great Lakes.

The Zanzibar Archipelago is a collection of islands nestled in the Indian Ocean just a short boat ride from the east coast from Dar es Salaam. Zanzibar Island (known as Unguja) is the most popular island in the Archipelago and a perfect spot for beach lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.

Things to know before you arrive

Tanzania’s beautiful, diverse landscape comes with a diverse climate, so make sure to plan ahead. Although most areas are on the warmer side, up to 32/33 °C (90/91 °F) it can get cold if you are headed to the mountains, so make sure to pack some warm clothes for your high altitude tours!
