Where is Zimbabwe?

Zimbabwe, officially Republic of Zimbabwe, is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It shares a border with South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Mozambique. It is a rocky, mountainous country rich with minerals in the mountains and wildlife in the savannas.  Very few airlines travel direct to or from Zimbabwe, but flights from South Africa are very easy to get from many popular cities including Cape Town and Johannesburg. You can get flights into the capital, Harare or straight to Victoria Falls, which has its own airport.

Things to know before you arrive

Zimbabwe has a relatively stable, temperate climate. Although it can get as low as 5°C at night during the wet season, usually temperatures stay around 15°C-28°C. If you are planning to travel in the wet season (June, July & August) make sure to make good wet weather clothes and non-slip shoes. If you are travelling on an Australian passport a visa is available on entry, but it is always recommended to check current requirements when booking your trip.
